Intriguing list will have a closer look at it. Ranking Lendl ahead of
Sampras reeks of Raja, but McEnroe is way higher than Lendl so unusual?

To me, this guy is a far better writer of language than raja ever was.
But he was fundamentally like raja in being an anal retentive data guy,
and he also seems to truly believe that he has the answers, when what he
often does is identify categories that require further analysis for meaning.

E.g., specialization. He is most right, I think, but then steps out of
his sweet spot in an attempt to link it to a trend in all sports--and
he's essentially right in general, but he gets too cute when lumping in
2 platoon American football as an example based mostly on
specialization. What happened first--and to a degree still hold for the strength positions, is that it's less specialization than it is to
combat fatigue. You do not want your 300+ lb lineman who just got done
playing defense to go on offense and then have to go against a fresh
300+ lb defense-only lineman.

So in an attempt to be a know-it-all he shoots himself in the foot--very raja-like.

But Sampras at #20 and Lendl at #19 was so ridiculous it reminded me of him, especially with Agassi jab and Graf praise.

Yes, but it's at least out there for discussion, I guess.

Don't know about race, I have always thought him as white, perhaps not
as he seems to have inferiority complex when it comes to us Finns. Then
again, that might probably be the case even with some "white" Europeans...
I always thought Southern Europeans as genetically (and behaviourally)
