Getting some new scouts wouldn't be bad. As you may have seen, I have
invited the people of rec.sport.soccer and r/footballscouting. If you participate in a community (social network group, subreddit, forum,
etc.) that may be interested in the game, you could invite them.

(Yes, I'm suggesting you invite more rivals...)

Useful piece of information: as it stands, the 10th cycle's two guest
nations are Morocco and Portugal (https://inside.fifa.com/fifa-world-ranking/men) (note that these are
the "unofficial" live rankings, not the pre-WC ones published on June
    11).

Morocco looks relatively secure, but Belgium and Colombia could still
    unseat Portugal, I guess.

With Yerry Mina's very brief appearance today, I think all my players
that actually made world cup squads have made at least once appearance.
Still active: Pickford, Tielemans, Maignan, Digne, Williams, Laporte
    Gone: Goretzka, Mina, Nmecha

Belgium didn't get any points, so, barring surprises, it will in fact
be Morocco and Portugal to be the two guest NTs for Cycle 10.

One of them could be FIFA not updating the ranking before July 22!

(But in that case, I would propose to move the date of the ranking we
use to determine the new nations, and I expect nobody to disagree. :) )

Morocco being the first non-UEFA-or-CONMEBOL NT in the history of FS.

Also the first that has poaching U-internationals from other nations, as
a strategy. Will make for a different picking process.

Yes. Now one will be able to pick players of Moroccan origin in the
FRA/ESP/NED youth setup (and to a lesser extent ITA/GER/POR/ENG)
without having to worry that they will switch NT allegiance. Rewards
terrible picks like Hakim Ziyech... (on the other hand, the Ayoub
Bouaddi case almost makes you think that the original FS rule, where
you would not be penalized for picking players who switch NT
    allegiance was better...almost!)

I forgot to write in the email is that I also updated the
predictions---they were up before the cup was lifted!

(yeah, avoid the passive voice *if there is no reason to use it*)

Translation: the predictions were up on the site even before Rodri
(Daniele 5) received the Player of the Tournament trophy and lifted
the World Cup (after unceremoniously inviting Trump and Infantino to
    get out of the way).

*IMPORTANT*: we are debating who will count as Moroccan for the "you
can't pick more than 1 player from a new nation in 24 hours" rule in the mailing list.

The grotesque irony of migrants crossing from Morocco into Spain in the
same days as we decided how to handle players with Moroccan + another nationality shouldn't go unnoticed. The tensions between scouts about
how to handle the FS issue mirroring the tensions between European
    nations, etc.

Tragic events. They make one rejoice that the biggest problem one has in
    life are Futbolmetrix's absurd proposals!
