21 minutes played, slow pace here, Paraguay are basically just sitting
back and closing down space, 0-0.

42 minutes, just as I was about to say nothing is happening and they
could justifiably replace the match broadcast with a repeat of Police
Academy Paraguay get a corner against the run of play. The ball was
cleared but Paraguay recovered the ball and crossed in again from the
right, Enciso was completely unmarked in the middle of the area and
headed in to put Paraguay 1-0 up.

Paraguay are basically playing a repeat of their match against Turkey
other than they waited longer than 70 seconds to take the lead. All the possession and most of the chances are Germany's, but they haven't made
the breakthrough and Paraguay took the one good chance they did make.

Some dirty play in the form of diving is already creeping into
Paraguay's game, I expect that will only get worse the longer they hold
    onto the lead.

On 54 minutes a deep German long pass found Havertz who used his head to
flick the ball past the keeper to equalise.

Both teams were better in the second half, it finished 1-1 after 90

Drama in the first half of extra time, Germany took the lead when Tah
headed in a corner at the far post....except they didn't because there
was a late VAR review which spotted a push on the keeper from another
player before Tah headed. Not a popular decision in the stadium.

We're in the second half of extra time and it remains 1-1.....

Paraguay are basically playing a repeat of
their match against Turkey other than they
waited longer than 70 seconds to take the
lead. All the possession and most of the
chances are Germany's, but they haven't made
the breakthrough and Paraguay took the one
    good chance they did make.

Some dirty play in the form of diving is
already creeping into Paraguay's game, I
expect that will only get worse the longer
    they hold onto the lead.
