    Confirmed matchups:

    June 28 (Match 73, LA): South Africa-Canada
    June 29 (Match 76, Houston): Brazil-Japan
    June 29 (Match 75, Guadalupe): Netherlands-Morocco
July 1(Match 81, San Francisco): USA - Bosnia and Herzegovina

    Other most likely matchups:

    June 29 (Match 74, Boston): Germany-Paraguay 99.34%
    June 30 (Match 78, Dallas): Ivory Coast - Norway/France 100%
    June 30 (Match 77, NY/NJ): France/Norway-Sweden 99.39%

July 1 (Match 80, Atlanta): England-DR Congo or Senegal (about 38%
    each)
July 1 (Match 82, Seattle): This one is way up in the air: I currently
have the most likely matchup as Egypt vs Korea, but I am skeptical
    that Korea will make it.

    July 2 (Match 83, Toronto): Portugal/Colombia vs Ghana/Croatia
    July 2 (Match 84, LA): Spain-Austria/Algeria 80.85%
July 2 (Match 85, Vancouver): Switzerland - Algeria/Egypt/Iran no team

All of this to say that the most straight up QF bracket will be:

    FRA-NED
    ESP-USA

    BRA-MEX
ARG-COL (this could be ARG-POR and Messi vs Ronaldo if Portugal wins
    its group)

Just three UEFA teams in the quarters would be
    unprecedented wouldnrCOt it?

When you don't send your best, like 4-time WC winners...

Anyway, Mexico could be England (who would need to win at the Azteca)
and Colombia could be Portugal. The rest is a function of the draw,
which pits Germany and France in the same otofinal and Belgium's poor
    form.

Morocco are favorites IMO against Holland, though not very strong ones, anything can happen.

Then again some of the other european teams might show up, as you say,
so it remains to be seen.

Where are the football historians to correct me?
UEFA already had only three teams in the quarterfinal
    at the 2010 World Cup.

Of course, all three subsequently made it to the semis.

    Ciao,
    Werner

    More confirmed matchups:
    Germany-Paraguay
    France-Sweden
    Ivory Coast - Norway
    Argentina - Cape Verde
    Australia - Egypt

    Almost certain (>99.8%)
    Mexico - Ecuador

    Still up in the air:

    L1 - I/J/K3 (I think this will be England-Congo)
Belgium - A/I/J3 (I think this will be Senegal)
    K2 - L2 (Colombia/Portugal versus Ghana/Croatia)
    Spain - J2 (probably Spain-Austria)
    Switerland - G/J3 (probably Switzerland-Algeria)
    K1 - E/I/L3 (probably Portugal/Colombia vs Croatia/Ghana)

I'm assuming that all of tomorrow's 3rd placers will reach 4 points, eliminating Iran.

Austria and Algeria should switch shirts. :) You know, like those guys
who had a contest whose camel comes last.
