    At MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford:

    Norway 3-2 Senegal

    43' Pedersen
    48' Haaland
    53' I. Saar
    58' Haaland
    90'+3' I. Saar

Norway - France to define first place in this group. Winner plays the
third placed team from group C/D/F/G/H, while the runner-up plays the runner-up of group E (could be anyone but Germany, but will likely be
the Ivory Coast). Atm France ahead on GD, so they play for a draw.

As for Senegal, I guess they should be able to beat Iraq for third place
in this group, and an anchor around their necks shaped as a -4 GD, they
need to go for a big one to try not to go home early.

On another note, the ongoing Messi vs Mbapp|- duel for the World Cup top goalscoring record is indeed interesting (so far Messi leads 18-16). But
as far as this tournament alone is concerned, Haaland is up there too. Depending on how far Norway goes he might challenge for the 2026 golden
boot. And if Norway keeps qualifying from here onwards (and well, with
48 teams getting in you'd expect them to do that more often than they're
used to), maybe in a couple of tournaments he too will be closing in to
    the all-time numbers

Indeed, that we have three players on 5, 4 and 4 goals after only two
group stage games looks like a bit of madness to me. I mean, my "first"
WC was 1990 and usually 6 goals would be enough to make you top
goalscorer in almost all of them since (excepting 2002 and 2022, where
Ronaldo and Mbapp|- scored 8). And that would also hold for the three
    cups previous to 1990.

    Best regards,
