About to kickoff at Lincoln Financial Field, in Philadelphia. Should
be an interesting one.
Still 0-0 at the first half ad break. Ivory Coast slightly better,
but it was Ecuador who had the better chances: a miss by Enner
Valencia, on a play he received the ball free on the penalty spot,
cleared a defender and shot it over the bar; and a shot on the bar by
John Yeboah, just before the break.

0-0 HT
Ecuador look the better team but the Ivorians look dangerous when they
attack, well, that one time.-a Ecuador is apparently all about
defending, so this could end 0-0.
More last minute heroics, late goal gives Ivory Coast the 1-0 win, based
on the 2nd half they probably just about deserved it.
I felt a draw would have been fair too, but this serves Ecuador right
for not taking their chances.
Now does this result work well for Germany making it to the next round?
Will Ivory Coast already feel they have qualified when they meet Germany next match here on the Iceberg?
They've certainly gone a long way towards that, unless they find a way
to screw up in the last round against Cura|oao.
Anyway, that could cut both ways. They can take their chances and go for
the jugular, knowing they have an easier game later to try to compensate
if things go wrong; or they could play it cautiously because they don't
really need to expose themselves.
