UK/EI DX SSB Contest Special Features

The UK/EI DX SSB contest, coming up on the 1st and 2nd of November, has
some interesting features that should appeal to Irish stations. Every
EI and GI county is a multiplier, and this makes Irish stations very
popular. To encourage multiplier stations to be available in the early
hours of Sunday, EI and UK stations score double points during the
hours of 01:00 UTC and 04:59 UTC. This can dramatically change your
score. There is also an optional team competition within the contest.
Form your own team or you can join the IRTS Team. When you upload your
log after the contest, simply look for the text block called "Name of
Group (if applicable)" and enter IRTS Team or your team's name. Lastly,
there is a new Top 10 scores page for the DX contest. Use the filters
to see the top-scoring stations for all DX contests to date. For
instance, EI3JE was the top-scoring EI station for the last two years
in the SSB high power section. The Top 10 scores page and DX Contest
rules are on the UKEICC.com website.
