** Boeing Employees Amateur Radio Society 2026 Field Day Report () ------------------------------------------------------------

    The Boeing Employees Amateur Radio Society (https://sites.google.com/site/ k7nwsbears?utm_source RL&utm_campaign-30b1cb65-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2026 _09_15_02_42&utm_medium ail&utm_term -cb30b1cb65-443795558)
(BEARS) of Seattle, Washington, was represented on ARRL Field Day aga
in this year during a gathering at the Museum of Flight (MoF) facility,
where members operated in the national event and enjoyed some camaraderie
and in-person contacts. The event took place on June 27 - 28, w
ith operation starting at 11:00 AM PDT Saturday, and continuing to 11:00
AM Sunday. A preparation team arrived Friday morning to start setting up.

Operation consisted of an HF station in the club trailer that was operatin
g FT-8 and using the tower-mounted HF beam. A field station was also set u
p just inside the MoF parking lot fence, north of the ham shack in the M
oF step van, that used our A3S beam antenna and trailer-mounted tower. T
he UHF Winlink station in the trailer was used to send messages to ARRL of ficials, and our satellite station also made a contact.

Emergency power for the ham shack was provided by the MoF site generator
, which was tested by Ray Fletcher, KB7VMS. A generator was used at th
e field station and as an experiment. A portable solar setup was also conn ected to the radio and provided power for that component.

A total of 222 contacts were made, which garnered a total operating scor
e of 882 points. We also earned 600 bonus points for operating emergency p ower, sending an ARRL Section Manager message, making natural-power co
ntacts, having site safety responsibilities, making a satellite contac
t, and making a web entry. The combined score of 1,482 was uploaded to
ARRL's online submission web page. Look for our listing in the sc
ore results, published in an upcoming issue of QST.

** Alabama Poll for Delta Division Members () ------------------------------------------------------------

ARRL has emailed all Full members in the Southeastern and Delta Divisions
, seeking their participation in an online survey about moving the Alaba
ma Section to the Delta Division. The ARRL Board of Directors conditionall
y approved the move for February 1, 2027, pending completion of the su
rvey and without major exceptions. Members must log in to the ARRL website
to complete the survey at www.arrl.org/alabama-survey.

    ** Club License Reminder () ------------------------------------------------------------

By Maria Somma, AB1FM, ARRL VEC Manager

While amateur radio operators are generally diligent about updating and re newing their individual licenses, club licenses can sometimes be overloo
ked. It's important for clubs to periodically review their club li
cense information to ensure everything is current. Take a few moments to v erify that your club's mailing address and trustee information are
    accurate in the FCC License database (https://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/Ul sSearch/searchLicense.jsp?utm_source RL&utm_campaign-30b1cb65-EMAI L_CAMPAIGN_2026_09_15_02_42&utm_medium ail&utm_term -cb30b1cb65-443795558)
. Also, confirm that the license is not approaching expir

    ation.

All club license transactions (except for new vanity call sign requests) m
ust be handled through an FCC-approved Club Station Call Sign Administrato
r (CSCSA) by completing a 605-C Form (Club Station Application). This form
cannot be submitted directly to the FCC, and club transactions cannot b
e completed through the FCC's website. The ARRL VEC is a CSCSA and
can process these requests for your club.

Please refer to the appropriate instructions and club application form (ht tps://www.arrl.org/club-call-signs?utm_source RL&utm_campaign-30b1 cb65-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2026_09_15_02_42&utm_medium ail&utm_term -cb30 b1cb65-443795558) to help you update or renew your club license.

Keeping your club license up to date helps ensure smooth operations and co ntinued FCC compliance.

If you have questions or need help, please contact the ARRL VEC (mailto: vec@arrl.org) department.
