    August QST

Once again, QST's August issue presents highlights from the annual HamSCI Workshop.

This year's workshop was sponsored by ARRL and held at Central Connecticut State University.

Researchers and hams working with the Ham Radio Science Citizen Investigation presented findings on "time-of-flight" measurement (the time it takes for a radio signal to travel from a transmitter to a receiver), meteor scatter communications, updates to the HamSCI Personal Space Weather Station project (including a contesting and DXing dashboard), and more. Hams talk about their favorite modes - sideband, CW, digital, FM - and you might have some favorites yourself, but did you know that modes are much more than the difference between voice, Morse code, or digital signals? They're
also different ways of modulating a radio wave. Learn more in "Modulation" by Scott Freeberg, WA9WFA. Read On the Air [ https://edition.pagesuite-professional.co.uk/html5/reader/production/default.aspx?pubname=&pubid=2b55b7de-280c-4770-b209-5aafb264d669
