Many thanks to Mark for moderating WG 66.Well, my clue doesn't work, but you get the idea...
Welcome to WG 67: rCySixes and sevensrCO.
'At sixes and sevens' means in a state of disarray. For WG 67, please write a cryptic clue where the definition in the clue is an anagram of the true definition. The definition in your clue should be just one word.
Here is an example:
Composer's written about a horse (5)
BACH about A = BEACH
HORSE anagram = SHORE = BEACH
Up to three entries, please.
The deadline for entries is end of day, Friday the 18th of February.
Good luck,
Inocula
Thanks to Duke, Duke, and Duke for entering WG 67, and apologies for the delay. With my misunderstanding of the goal, this one is A(R)CHES, which anagrams to SEARCH.
I fear that my instructions for the competition were not clear, in that my intentions were that the definition in the clue had to be an anagram of the real definition (HORSE = SHORE, which defines BEACH), and not an anagram of the entered answer.
With that in mindrCa
DUKE:
Search for grain of relief within throbbing pains (6)
SPRAIN: this one I donrCOt get. I suspect the answer is SPRAIN, but canrCOt see how the definition works.
