Does anybody know where I can download a usable copy of EOSInfo, or any
other utility which will tell me the shutter count of my EOS 50D ?

I just want to get an idea so that I can sell the thing on eBay ..

    OK cancel that ...

Just discovered that CanonEosDigitalInfo and canon-eos-digital-info are

I can't speak for Canon, but I know that Nikon embeds shutter count in
    the EXIF.

    [joe@myserver 20260526Misc]$ exiftool DSC_0033.JPG | grep -i shutter
    Shutter Mode : Auto (Mechanical)
    Mechanical Shutter Count : 33
    Shutter Count : 33

    That's from a new Z50 ii.

I am told that the EOS 50D predates that "standard" - and that no
current Canon software provides that function.

Anyway, the problem is now solved and I will be putting my "low shutter
    count" camera on eBay today
