I have hiked this park before, but never camped there. I really enjoyed
the place. Nice dry firewood with decent fire pits. The spaces were
good sized and for the most part secluded. There was a good sized
gravel area with the spots nicely leveled, and that came in handy as it
did rain during the stay. Here's a few pics of the site.

This place is a huge park, and there is plenty of hiking trails. I did
a 6.34 mile one day, and a short hike before fishing another of just
under 2 miles to see the waterfall. Last time I was there it was dry.
I did come across an amazing mushroom the first day that I had never
seen before. It's called "Golden Oyster Mushroom" and the pics do not
give it justice to just how yellow these things were. They're invasive
coming from east Asia, but are highly sought after for their texture and
nutty flavor. I only saw this one spot in the whole place. How did
    they get there?

I did get out to do some fishing, but there was a good amount of
vegetation in the lakes and this was about the best spot I could find,
even though I still had to pull through some weeds. Just caught a
couple sunfish, and lost a few more pulling thru weeds, but damn I had a
great time. Weather was really good. If you had a boat, I'm sure the
fishing is much better out on the lake.

All in all, though I only stayed 4 nights, it was another great trip. I
would go back to this place for sure. The beach had a crapload of kids
out swimming and just having fun. But, at the camp it was relatively
quiet and everyone was behaving. I could have used cell service, but it
was spotty, so I did use Starlink and got decent speed even though I
only had about half a sky. On to the next one!

That is a nice looking site! I really, really prefer sites that
don't have the rigs stacked up against each other, cheek to jowl.

Via spores. But you knew that. :)

Seriously, they look much like what we called oyster tree
mushrooms back in my days as a chef. Only difference is those
    were generally more whitish.

Nice fish shot. And the lake looks very nice.

Maybe I'm odd, but four nights is plenty in one spot--I'm usually
ready to see something different by the third day.

    Thanks for the report!

It all depends on how much there is to do in the area. Out in Utah,
there was so much to do it would be easy to stay in one spot a little
longer. But, I tend to agree with you. Without having kids around that
just want to play, you have to find adult things to do to make it worth
while. Around the midwest, you can hike or bike, fish a little, see
some sights, but it doesn't take long and you're ready to move on.

    Thanks for the report!

Should be a regular part of this group IMO. Very helpful getting ideas,
and reports to help plan the next adventure. I enjoy reading them when
you do yours. We need more folks here that RV!

Well, then, if you meet some candidates while you're RVing, tell them
    about the place.

That's a good idea! We typically don't talk much with other
campers, but I will start to look for opportunities.
