• Got one planned in Wisconsin

Going to this interesting looking place up in Wisconsin. Will be
fishing on the Mississippi or the Wisconsin River, and both should be
good. Now I just gotta get my RV back...Ha!

Looks nice! We've been to the Madison/Middleton area several
times (to see Kathy's cousins and for tandem rallies) and have
also been through Dubuque, but haven't ever been that far north
along the Mississippi. We'll need to check it out at some point.

Hope you get the View back in time!

Looks nice! We've been to the Madison/Middleton area several

The west side of Madison and going to Middleton is very nice. Go south
from Middleton down to Verona and you are in just a wonderful area.
Rolling and wooded hills with lots of bike trails, parks, and things to
do. The area is crazy liberal, but the people are for the most part
very nice. We go there often.

times (to see Kathy's cousins and for tandem rallies) and have
    also been through Dubuque,

The Dubuque are is getting better, but the city really had some tough
years. Nice area again with the rolling hills and access to the
Mississippi, but still economically depressed somewhat.

but haven't ever been that far north
along the Mississippi. We'll need to check it out at some point.

This is a very cool area, and one we ride the Harley in a lot. One of
my favorite rides is going from our house up to Lacrosse, and then
coming down either side of the river to Dubuque before heading east to
home. About 450-500 mile ride and we some memories of some wonderful
    days doing that.

Which reminds me, I didn't do a trip report on my stay at Governor
Dodge, which is actually just a little further north than Wyalusing.
I'll try to get to that today.

Hope you get the View back in time!

I don't think that will be a problem. I had tried to get out next week,
but everywhere I checked thee was nothing available with electricity. I figured it still might get hot and need the AC, so I didn't want to book without it. Checking for two weeks, still very packed and the site I
got at Wyalusing was the only one still left there. I want to go back
to the Kettle Moraine Northern District about the same time I went last
year, so I gotta get that booked before they're all gone too. That was
a magical place and I'll bring the poles with this time.

The year we did MTR (Midwest Tandem Rally) in that area (2012) we
rode out of the Marriott in Middleton. Looking back through my
file of saved routes, it seems they were all west, northwest, or
north from there. Sauk City and Lodi were bigger towns on the
    routes.

I do recall it being nicely rolling countryside for the most part,
and very enjoyable. We were a lot fitter back then. :(

Thanks for the info on the various areas!

the AC, so I didn't want to book without it.

I hear that! We're heading to the Snowies at the ass end of July,
so I'm sure it will be hot across Nebraska and booked electric
sites. The temps in the mountains are supposed to get down to the
low 60s at night, so I reserved a site with no services for three
nights with hopes we'll be comfortable without any AC.

It'll be an interesting trial to see how we do without electric.
I've got a battery (and hand) operated coffee grinder and will use
the stove to boil water. We'll have to do without the microwave,
which will be a big adjustment. I'll run the fridge off propane
so I hope the 100 Ah Li battery makes it through the night (fans
    and water pump).

I picked up a 100W solar panel and am hoping it will be enough to
bring the battery back to full charge (or close) each day...

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GGB6GQNH?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

If my calculations are right, it would take roughly 14 hours to
charge the battery if fully depleted. So I'm guessing if it
doesn't go much under 50% discharged, a full day in the sun should
bring it back to full. My plan is to just lay the panel on the
roof of the Lance so it won't be as visible or accessible to
anyone who might want to steal it while we're away.

Of course if it's cloudy or my estimates are off, I may end up
having to take the battery somewhere to charge it. We'll see how
it goes, I'm anxious to know!

Picking it up tomorrow. Hopefully the jack was the only problem. They
said they tested it, so we'll see.

That's a damn good price for a 100 watt panel. Hope it fills your needs.

I trust all is a go?

    your needs.

    Fingers crossed, thanks!

It also occurred to me (laying in bed trying to sleep, of course)
that I might have an additional option. Shortly after buying the
Lance, I also picked up a little Noco Genius 5 charger. I used it
several times for the original lead acid battery, but it also
works fine for my current 100 Ah lithium battery. I also have a
110 V outlet in the Acadia, so hmmmm...

As I lay there rthinking, it seemed I might have tried this and
the Acadia didn't supply enough current for the charger to run.
This morning I asked AI and it said it should work fine--the
charger draws less than the car can supply. I just got back from
a test at the storage unit, and indeed it does. HAHaha! The BMS
said the charger was delivering 4.5 A.

I also asked AI if I could run the solar panel and the car powered
charger at the same time, and it was quite confident that would be
no problem. Based on the source details I provided, it assured me
that the combined current would be well below what the battery
could stand. Also, each charging source would taper off its
output individually based on what its own controller was seeing.

So it seems if the battery gets highly depleted overnight, I
should have options to get it recharged without having to
disconnect and haul it anywhere. With both chargers running, the
AI estimates ~9 hours to fully charge a completely depleted 100 Ah
battery. Obviously I'm not gonna run the Acadia that long (it
shuts off after an hour in park anyway), but it's nice to have the backup/supplementary option.

I have it at home now, but haven't had the time to lift it up. I am
getting sick of the high heat and probably won't get to it today because
of that and just sit inside and plan two trips I need to get done. But
I gotta get it tested to know if I have to take a jack with. Leaving
    next week.

That 100 watt alone will do a pretty good job keeping it up. Sounds
like you're confident now you can do it without hookup if needed.
    That's great.
