Bought this Willys so I have something for getting around when the
Warden doesn't want to go. Kinda fun to drive and should be good
off-road. Used (2022), so I don't have to worry about scratches so
much, but it only has 21,000 miles on it and does look almost new.
Another thing I like is it only weighs 3950 lbs. That's 1000 lbs less
than the Bronco and comes to 20% lighter. Will be much easier on the
    View when pulling it.

Probably going to do the baseplate and wiring installation myself again.
    Fun, fun, fun!

Snazzy! A good (and crazy) friend had a '48 Willys Jeep back when
the two of us lived in Flagstaff (late 70s). It was a fun vehicle
and we tooled all over the place with it. It was probably about
that time in my life when I read The Monkeywrench Gang. There's
this section where the protagonist is being chased by LEOs and
comes up against the edge of a cliff. He ties the winch cable
around a tree and lowers himself and the jeep down to the bottom
of the cliff and gets away. Always wanted to try something that
daring (but of course never had the guts to).
