The wife don't want to go, but I want another time out before it get
crappy. Heading up to the Kettle Moraine Northern Unit and staying at
the Mauthe Lake State Park Campground. Only going to be three nights,
but that will let me go on the Ice Age trail on 2 separate days both
ways. Looking forward to hiking through this wonderful place.

    Nice!

We've managed to cram a few days into the schedule, and will head
to Ponca State Park in northeast Nebraska a week from Sunday.
It's a park my folks took me too when I was a kid, and is on the
bluffs above the Missouri. There's a great overlook of three
states (S. Dakota, Iowa, and Nebraska). Should be nicely cool by
then! Expecting to get in some hiking myself.

That'll be nice. I found I had about 4 sites I could have chosen with
less than a weeks notice. Definitely easier going now that the brats
    are back in school.

Take some pics of the view to show us, please.

Since the warden isn't going, I got myself 2 nice cigars to smoke around
the campfire. Of course since I reserved my dates, the forecast has
changed from no rain in sight, and now the two days I was going hiking
it is supposed to rain at about 50% chance. I'll be sitting under the
awning listening to it and having a smoke if it gets bad.

Not all bad. We had planned to get out on the tandem this morning
before the wind got bad, but bailed because it was blowing like
hell before we even were ready to go. Took a "rain" check for
tomorrow, and if it is as windy tomorrow will probably hike instead.

It's been decades since we did any of our favorite hikes on the
bluffs overlooking the Missouri River, so that'll be a fun fallback
    option...

Yeah, you probably are going to have much more windy days than you did
back in Indiana. I'm sure you'll get used to that. Fair trade-off.

That looks very cool. Some good looking trails in that fontenelle
forest along the ridges. Hope you have a great time!

This time tomorrow I'll be about all set up in the Kettle!

Since I'm feeding only myself, naturally I'm having steak every night.
So I went and got a nice ribeye, a t-bone, and I thought I'd get a porterhouse. They wrapped them all up separately, and when I saw the
price of the porterhouse I was a bit surprised. $52 for one damn steak!

I guess the drought across some parts of the country is having a big
effect on herd size, but I sure hope that damn thing it great for $52!!
