• Perfect trip...Bad ending

    Well we made it home.

Perfect trip except last night. Got stuck in a bad storm between Lincoln
and Omaha in Nebraska and got hit with 2rCY hail.

Cracked windshield on the View and lots of other damage. Bronco has
dents in just about every panel on it. Terrible way to end a great trip.

    Very discouraging.

Man, I feel for you, but look at the bright side - it didn't happen at
the beginning of the trip, and it'll probably never happen again. Not
only that, you didn't fall off the hogback or have 2 flat tires in the boonies.

Sorry that happened to you. Not the best way to start or end a trip but
just like the storm, this too shall pass. In my many years of travel we
have experienced several unpleasant situations. Of course that doesnrCOt make you feel better. After the crying, swearing and outright disgust (BTDT) all
you can do is deal with it and look forward to the next adventure.

By the way, good luck with the insurance company.

Thanks to you both for the kind words. I know it will all work out and
am not going to let this stop me from RVing. Working on getting it
ready today for service. Once I get settled back in to the home
routine, I'll post about some of the interesting things we did and
    learned on the trip.

    Take care everyone!

Oof, so sorry to hear this. And since I'm from that area it's
bothersome you weren't treated better. :(

In honesty, it was entirely my fault that I ended up where I did during
the storm. But it's a story for another day. I actually really like
Nebraska and Iowa. I intended to get to, and eventually did, make it to Council Bluffs, Iowa. We slept in the Bass Pro lot right near the Mid
America Center. The view to the west of the city of Omaha is really
quite beautiful from there. Though, we also were right in the Eppley
Airfield runway pattern and got a bit of jet noise, but it quieted down
    after 11 pm.

The storm was big news on the AM radio the next day, so we had lots of companions in our misfortune.

12 in Utah is an amazing road. Well worth driving the whole thing.
Would have liked to do it in something other than the RV pulling the
Bronco, but I still enjoyed it.

Nice! Lewis and Clark Monument, up top of the bluff looking over
the Missouri River is just a few miles north of there--and one of
    my favorite spots. Lovely view.

I can relate. I drove it with my Acadia... but towing a small
Lance trailer. Despite the fear, I think it was my favorite thing
of everything we saw that trip.
