Related to my WY Itinerary thread, I got th belo tips from a
friend who is quite familiar with the area. Thought I'd share for
    general awareness.

Kathy and I picked Devils Tower as our next camping
    destination.

    Great. It's cool.

My grandfather ranched at Aladdin, just east of Devil's Tower.

When planning the trip, I decided Yellowstone and the Tetons
would be good to add in, given they aren't that much farther
(relatively speaking). So we'll be coming back from the Tetons
toward the DTNP--probably around the northern end of the Winds
and through the reservation. Can't wait to see it all.

Swing east from DT to visit the Aladdin Store. When I was a
kid, one side of the store was dedicated to ammunition and the
other side to jeans, with everything else a general store needs
in between. It's vastly more touristy now, but it's still fun.

Be sure to obey the sign, "COWBOYS SCRAPE SHIT FROM BOOTS
BEFORE ENTERING", which dates back to days when it was actually
    serious.

Be sure to stop a day in Cody. The Buffalo Bill Center museums
are among the best museums I've ever been in. Terrific
curation and presentation in several wings: Indian artefacts,
Western art [1], firearms, Cody memorambilia. We say at the
    Chamberlin.

From there, take US 14 over the Big Horns to Sheridan. The
drive is specatacular; second only to US 12 over Lolo Pass in
the US. If Sheridan had the skiing that Bozemn has, we'd be
living there. King's Saddlery is caters to serious rodeo
competitors, but also has plenty of tourist shit. The Sheridan
Inn is a huge old wooden barn that's a fun place to stay.

DO NOT MISS the Brinton Museum. Plan to spend at least an
afternoon. This is one of the great small museums of the world.

From there, it's a couple of hours on the interstate to Devil's
Tower. You can loop through Aladdin from there.

If you wanted to see a different road back to Jackson, You
could go around the south side of the Big Horns. I wouldn't.
The road from Casper to Shoshoni is about as godforsaken and
windblown as Mongolia. I'd retrace US 14 across the Big Horns,
turn south at Graybull to go through Worland and Thermopolis,
turn west at Shoshoni or Riverton to go through Dubois and the
    Winds to Moran.

[1] There are two huge murals of Custer's Last Stand facing
each other across a room. One is the classic Heroic Custer,
the other is from the Indian viewpoint.
