    This reached me through Mastodon. Dean Dierschow posted on Facebook
    that Kathy passed away yesterday. I knew she had been having health
    issues but hadn't been in contact in the past few months, when things apparently got worse. I don't know the direct medical cause.

    RIP Kathy, you were a great filker and a great person and I will miss
    you. Condolences to everyone who was close to her. I wasn't in her
    inner circle but we were fairly well acquainted.
