for anyone coming to all these years-old threads looking to fix this problem, what helped me is updating whatever version of java i'm using WITHOUT uninstalling the previous version that technic was recognizing, opening the technic launcher, navigating to launcher options and changing which version of java to use. from here i was able to change my ram from 1gb to 4gb perfectly fine.
i have never had java 32bit installed. for whatever reason the technic launcher ran just fine with my 8.231 version of java 64bit, but upgrading to 8.381 made it unable to run. many people in other threads here and on reddit said to uninstall the previous version and keep the latest version, but the only thing that worked for me was having both versions and just switching which version to use within the technic launcher.

this thread may also be of some help for people experiencing similar problems if you're willing to do registry editing. i did everything in the thread below ncluding changing all the directories and stuff, and then installed both an older version of java 64 and the latest version, and i was able to run tekkit 2 just fine.
I already have Java 1.7.55 installed. The machine in question does not have internet access. I have a web app on this machine that requires java. When accessing this app in firefox, I get a message that says "A plugin is needed to display this content, Install plugin". How do I get the "plugin" without internet access?
Maybe I don't understand but I'm trying...The machine that does not have internet access HAS java installed via manual installation from thumb drive. I have install Firefox in the same manor. Now, when hitting the application via IP address in Firefox, I receive the "plugin is needed" message, see image... I installed java before I installed Firefox... if I re-install java does that make this go away? On computers with internet access, the plugin is installed via internet and problem is solved.
By default, trying to install java without specifying a version will resolve to the most common stable version of the OpenJDK JRE. As you can see from this output, as of this writing, that is java-1.8.0-openjdk:
More recently, OpenJDK changed its version numbering scheme to track more closely with Oracle Java releases. In order to install a newer version of OpenJDK, you can specify the version number in the package name, just like with 1.8.0. For example, in order to install OpenJDK 17, you can yum install java-17-openjdk:
As before, you can install the full JDK environment by appending -devel to the package name. However, after this, running java programs will still use the OpenJDK 1.8.0 version that you installed earlier by default, which you can confirm by running java -version again:
If you installed multiple versions of Java, you may want to set one as your default (i.e. the one that will run when a user runs the java command). Additionally, some applications require certain environment variables to be set to locate which installation of Java to use.
Enter the a selection number to choose which java executable should be used by default. It will rearrange the necessary symbolic links on your system to ensure that the java command points to the correct set of libraries. You can re-run this command as needed, and the output of java -version should change accordingly:
For example, if you installed Java to (/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.8.0-openjdk-1.8.0.322.b06-2.el8_5.x86_64/jre/bin (i.e. your java executable is located at (/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.8.0-openjdk-1.8.0.322.b06-2.el8_5.x86_64/jre/bin/java), you could set your JAVA_HOME environment variable in a bash shell or script like so:
The JDK is the Java Development Kit, the full-featured SDK for Java. It has everything the JRE has, but also the compiler (javac) and tools (like javadoc and jdb). It is capable of creating and compiling programs.
The JVM-wide filter factory is a java.util.function.BinaryOperator function invoked when each ObjectInputStream is constructed and when the stream-specific filter is set using sun.misc.ObjectInputFilter.Config.setObjectInputFilter(sun.misc.ObjectInputFilter). The parameters are the current filter and a requested filter and the function returns the filter to be used for the stream. When invoked from the ObjectInputStream constructors, the first parameter is null and the second parameter is the static JVM-wide filter. When invoked from sun.misc.ObjectInputFilter.Config.setObjectInputFilter(sun.misc.ObjectInputFilter), the first parameter is the filter currently set on the stream (which was set in the constructor), and the second parameter is the filter requested.
The Web installer for Java tends to be a little bit buggy. That being the case, the offline installer package will sometimes succeed where the Web installer fails. You can download the offline installer for Windows.
If you run into problems installing Java on Windows 7 or Windows 8, try installing Java as an administrator. To do so, download the offline installer and save it to an empty folder on your hard disk. Then, right-click on the executable file and choose the Run As Administrator command from the shortcut menu.
There have been some reports of antivirus software preventing Java from being installed. If you want to see whether your antivirus is causing your problem, I recommend downloading the offline installer, updating your antivirus software, and then performing a full system scan. This will help make sure that there are no infections on your system before you disable the antivirus software.
In this section, we will look at the steps to download the Java installer for Configuration Manager. Java installer is available for Windows, macOS, Linux and Solaris. There is no .msi installer available for Java, the offline installer is an executable file. There is a trick to get the Java MSI installer which is covered in the next section.
In case you have only 64-bit operating systems, then download only 64 Bit version of Java installer. You can download the latest version of Java offline installer from Java Site. In this article, we will deploy 64 bit of Java using Configuration Manager.
You can extract the .msi file out of Java.exe installer which will make it easy to populate install and uninstall commands automatically in Configuration Manager. To get the Java msi file you either need to install the java on one of the computers, or you need to run the Java executable (do not install the entire application).
    Hi
I would like to ask you if there is any way to automatical uninstal older java version after launching automatical instalation of java. I Have an issue, because some comuters in my network have 4 or 5 javas on them. I was using your method to install newest java versions on all devices.
In what regard? Do you get an installer error when manually testing the deployment? Also when deploying a new version of java I find it useful to do this with an install.cmd that also includes the removed of the last version of java deployed to the machines and a complete removal of all icons that are sun/ oracle related.
Business Calendar 2, and Business Calendar 2 Pro appear to suffer from a serious bug that makes successful export/import impossible and poses serious privacy/security issues. See -deleted-offline-calendar-events-in-android-actually-deleted
vcCalendar Lite looked promising. It has a completely offline calendar mode that does not even use Android's calendar system. But when editing a recurring event to specify an end data, the user loses every edit they made to that series. For example, if the user had deleted the second event in the series, it will suddenly reappear.
RockPaperLz - I know your post is from many years ago now, but it still has value here in 2022! In 2022, by finally moving off of my very first old smartphone from 2016, I just now learned about the dreaded Android offline calendar "marked for deletion" phenomenon. Here is how I solved my situation - which for people like you are me, is not normally encountered by most Android users (who willingly give Google their data...). My story:
With some other apps (like Samsung's S Planner) I noticed the same export issue that you mention (about deleted events still appearing in calendar exports). Etar doesn't suffer from the same issue, deleted events are properly cleaned up (even if you use local/offline calendars rather than cloud-based calendars).
