Concerti Grossi op.6
PS: I just checked the Google archive of this newsgroup (see below).
I guess I have changed my mind about the Karajan recordings.
Part of the explanation may be that I have a much larger and nicer, and
more comfortable, living room now.
The sound of the Berlin Philharmonic feels better here!

In 1997 I wrote:
<< From time to time I listen to Karajan's recording of Handel's
Concerti Grossi Opus 6 (Berlin Philh/ DG 435 041-2; recorded in
1967/8/9). It seems to me that Karajan's Handel is a caricature
[spelling corrected]: not at all light or elegant, not particularly
romantic either, but rather massive
(as is to be expected from Karajan's Berlin Philharmonic) in a
sentimental way--especially the unbearable yet beautiful string solo
playing. Some may call it "campy."
But I can't say that I dislike the set enough not to listen to it
fairly often or to get rid of it.>>
In 2000, in a thread about 'forgotton conductors':
<< Herbert von Karajan. He's not quite forgotten, though, and, as a
matter of fact, he did make it to CD. I have his Handel concerti grossi
on cd.>>
And in 2001:
<< This is vintage Karajan, that is, 1960s camp mocking the "grand old-fashioned style"; the famous Handelian splendor is missing
completely. [...] >>
