    Sometimes on jazz radio, they play Dexter Gordon.
    He has a nice touch on ballads.

    I don't own any of his recordings. Anyone care to
    recommend one or two CD, the "definitive", so to speak?

    The high-water mark is The Complete Blue Note Sixties Sessions, but it's
    6 CDs, out of print, and expensive now.

    As an alternative, you could check out this Euro public-domain release:

    These kinds of releases are often a mixed bag, but one review indicates
    the sound quality is pretty good, and you're probably not going to find
    better value for the money.
