    I believe George peaked as a songwriter, guitarist, and overall musician
    on Abbey Road.

    What, however, are some of his earlier pinnacles as a guitarist?

    The first one that comes to my mind is his solo on "Nowhere Man." The
    tone is perfect. The melody implies that of the vocql without mimicking
    it. And then it ends with panache -- the downward slide followed by the harmonic.
