    There are multiple interviews of McCartney in which he says that Yoko approached him first, asking him for manuscripts for some sort of
    celebration of John Cage. McCartney says that he declined Yoko's
    request -- but suggested to Yoko that she might want to ask his partner
    John for a manuscript instead.

    WTF would Yoko assume McCartney cared about a supposed John Cage event?
    I'll bet she was merely name-dropping.

    Also, I would bet that McCartney referred Yoko to John as a joke,
    assuming John would get amusement from encountering someone so barmy.
    It turns out that John was susceptible to narcissists like Yoko, having
    fried his brain on acid and making himself vulnerable to that sort.

    The joke, sadly, was on McCartney.
