Hi All,
I have about 15 four year old green onions plants
in my garden. They love the cold winter and my
horrible soil.
Right now, they have decided to spring up
flower stalks (scapes). I have been cutting
them off and been using them in cooking. They
taste the same as the regular leaves, but they
are not paper thin like the leaves. They are
thick and meaty. They cook up really well in
several dishes.
If you bite down on one that is raw, it is crunchy
with no fiber strands. Oh, and it will clear
your sinuses!
