    Hi All,

    I came across this

    Would explain why the stuff is so expensive.

    Dunno about American Ginseng, but what I saw when
    I was in South Korea took seven years before harvesting.

    The ginseng fields had rows of crops covered in black
    plastic too, but I don't know at what stage of the
    growing cycle this was done. Maybe during that long
    dormancy period?

    American Ginseng (Xi Yang Shen) and Korean Ginseng
    (Ren Shen) are actually to different plants. They
    just look alike. Xi Yang Shen is used differently
    too. Xi Yang Shen is particularly popular for treating
    "febrile" disease (long covid, chronic fatigue, etc.).
    It stops your body from attacking a pathogen that
    has already been gone/removed. Puts you back to "normal".

    You are right about Ren Shen. The Koreans are beyond
    passionate about its cultivation. And I think my
    zucchini plants have made a slave out of me!

    I do not believe Xi Yang Shen can not be cultivated and
    has to be harvested wild. But I may be out-of-date
    on that.

    The "Red Ginseng" tea is quite yummy. .
    Help recover from colds and flues as well as
    helping you if you have to be out in the freezing cold
    and scorching heat. You should getting brave and try
    some some day. If you smell it, your body will tell you
    if you need it.
