These questions were written to be asked in Toronto on 2025-11-10,
    and should be interpreted accordingly.

On each question you may give up to two answers, but if you give
both a right answer and a wrong answer, there is a small penalty.
Please post all your answers in a single followup to the newsgroup,
based only on your own knowledge. (In your answer posting, quote
the questions and place your answer below each one.) I will reveal
the correct answers in about 3 days.

All questions were written by members of the Cellar Rats, and are
used here by permission, but have been reformatted and may have
been retyped and/or edited by me. The posting and tabulation of
current-events questions is independent of the concurrent posting
of other rounds. For further information please see my 2026-03-10
companion posting on "Questions from the Canadian Inquisition
    (QFTCI*)".

    * Game 8, Round 4 - Miscellaneous - Canadian Citizenship Test

In order to become a Canadian citizen, you must answer 15 out of
20 questions to pass. And yes, these are actual questions taken
directly from the citizenship test. If the answer has changed
since the original game, you can give either the answer then or
    the current answer.

    1. Which federal political party is His Majesty's current Loyal
    Opposition?

    2. Who currently represents the Sovereign in Canada? (Give the
    person's position *and* name).

    3. Who has the right to vote in the federal elections? Name *one
    of the three* requirements.

    4. What does "due process" mean?

    5. Name *one of the three* things that you promise when you take
    the oath of citizenship.

    6. Name *one of the three* levels of government in Canada.

    7. Name *one of the three* parts of Parliament.

    8. Name *one of the two* pieces of information about a candidate
shown on a federal election ballot.

    9. Name *one of the three* main groups of Aboriginal peoples.

    10. Within 2 years, what year did the House of Commons recognize
that the Quebecois form a nation within a united Canada?

    * Game 8, Round 5 - Audio Round - Punk Rock

In the original game you would have been played a clip from each
song and had to name the singer or band. Here I'll give you the
title and the hints given in the original game, and you name the
    singer or band.

    1. "Sonic Reducer". They were New York's answer to the Sex Pistols,
fronted by the late Stiv Bators.

    2. "California #ber Alles". When your singer's name is Jello
Biafra, your band has a great name! What is the name of
    the band?

    3. "Dancing with Myself". Name the front man who came from the
band Generation X. He had a great solo career. Who is he?

    4. "Screamin Fist". Toronto had its own version of the Sex Pistols,
led by the recently deceased Steve Leckie. Who were they?

    5. "The Day the World Turned Day-Glo". Poly Styrene, a biracial
woman unique for the time, headed up this social-conscious late
1970s English punk band. Who was she?

    6. "New Rose". Somewhere between Goth and punk, this band was
formed in 1976 and rivals God Save the Queen as releasing the
    first punk single, "New Rose".

    7. "She's Lost Control". Things became post punk very fast.
Fronted by Ian Curtis, who had hanged himself before their
first North American tour, the broody melodies and dark lyrics
touched a new generation of this band in the late seventies.

    8. "Blank Generation". This band came out with the album titled
"Blank Generation". Their fusion of punk rock and art set them
    apart from their contemporaries.

    9. "Final Solution". Truly, a post-punk band, led by the now
recently deceased front man Dave Thomas, this art rock ensemble
got its name from the 1920s French Dadaist play.

    10. "Maximum Acceleration or Artificial Life". Early fusion of punk
and electronic, this band, originally fronted by Bowie wannabe
Jake Foxx, later to be replaced by Midge Ure, left an indelible
    mark.

    * Game 8, Round 6 - Science - Canadiana - Canadian Space Program

    1. In 1962, using a US rocket, Canada launched into space a
Canadian-built satellite. Thereby becoming the third nation
to have its own satellite in orbit. Name the satellite.

    2. Only one Canadian astronaut visited Russia's Mir space station.
    Who?

    3. Who was Canada's first female astronaut?

    4. The Canadian Space Agency or CSA is the body that manages
Canada's space activities. In which province is it
    headquartered?

    5. Anik A-1 was Canada's first communication satellite, launched
into geostationary orbit -- in what year?

    6. Which well-known Canadian actor took part in a suborbital
    spaceflight aboard the New Shepard?

    7. In 1983, which device was used for the first time to deploy a
payload out of the Space Shuttle's cargo bay?

    8. In 1990 Canada's High Flux Telescope was launched into space
as part of the ESA Ulysses space probe. Why was this a first
    for Canada?

    9. NEOSSat is a Canadian microsatellite launched from India in 2013.
Name one of the two things NEOSSat tracks and studies.

    10. No satellite has yet been launched into orbit from Canadian
territory, but this will be changing. Either name the company
building the new launch site, or the port near which it's
    located.
