    From Newsgroup: rec.games.trivia

(I was sure I'd posted this already, but I don't see it. Apologies
    if this is a repost.)

These questions were written to be asked in Toronto on 2025-02-03,
    and should be interpreted accordingly.

On each question you may give up to two answers, but if you give
both a right answer and a wrong answer, there is a small penalty.
Please post all your answers in a single followup to the newsgroup,
based only on your own knowledge. (In your answer posting, quote
the questions and place your answer below each one.) I will reveal
the correct answers in about 3 days.

All questions were written by members of the Night Owls, and are
used here by permission, but have been reformatted and may have
been retyped and/or edited by me. The posting and tabulation of
current-events questions is independent of the concurrent posting
of other rounds. For further information please see my 2024-08-30
companion posting on "Questions from the Canadian Inquisition
    (QFTCI*)".

    * Game 4, Round 4 - History - Shared Birthdates and Dates of Death

This round is about famous people who either were botn on the same
day or died on the same day. (To be clear, that's the same date
and same year in each case.)

    1. Which former member of the British royal family was born
1961-07-01, the same day as American Olympic track and field
    athlete Carl Lewis?

    2. Which famous scientist was born on 1809-02-12, the same day as
    Abraham Lincoln?

    3. Which well-known actor and entertainer was born on 1926-06-01,
the same day as Marilyn Monroe? This entertainer was a
Grammy-winning Southern gospel singer. He was nominated for two
Tony awards, and appeared in several movies... but was probably
best known for his work on a TV series. He died on 2012-07-03.
    Who was he?

    4. Which Canadian comedic actor and screenwriter was born on
1952-07-01, the same day as Canadian hockey legend Steve Schutt?
This actor is a firm believer in spirituality and has an avid
interest in aspects of the paranormal. Who is he?

    5. Which multiple Wimbledon winner was born 1943-11-22, the same
day as hockey legend Yvan Cournoyer?

    6. Which American playwright, who has received more Academy Award
and Tony Award nominations than any other author, was born on
1927-07-04, the same day as Italian actress Gina Lollobrigida?

    7. Name *either* US President who died on 1826-07-04.

    8. What TV news magazine host, TV anchor, and TV game show
host, held the Guinness Book of Records record for most hours
on television until Regis Philbin surpassed him in 2004. He was
born on 1921-02-14, the same day as Hazel McCallion. Who was he?

For questions #9 and #10 be careful about table talk.

    9. Two well-known authors died on 1963-11-22, the day J.F.K. was
assassinated. One was born in 1898, a deeply religious man
who wrote non-fiction Christian apologetics as well as novels.
He was a close friend of Tolkien. Who was he?

    10. The other famous author who died on 1963-11-22 was born in 1894.
His paternal grandfather, one of his brothers, and one of his
    half-brothers were world-famous biologists. On his mother's
side of the family, author Mrs. Humphrey Ward was his aunt,
and poet Matthew Arnold was his mother's cousin. Who was he?

This is a round on the Northern Star Award, formerly known as the
Lou Marsh Trophy, the Lou Marsh Memorial Trophy, or Lou Marsh Award.
This award honors Canada's top athlete professional or amateur.
