I want to start a D&D group which meets in my Canal Winchester home. I
want to play 1e/OSRIC, the classic rules, with osricrpg.com as the rule source. I'm happy to be the first DM and take us through some classic
modules, maybe even some original modules as the group gets going. I'm
also happy to let others have turns in the DM's chair.

Follow up or email me if you're interested. We only need a couple of
people to start. I'm aiming for Saturdays at 2:00, wrapping up in the
    early evening.

I have an aunt there, near Sharon Woods, but that's not much help.

I was not aware people still played AD&D.

    Verily, in article <113ep3l$38vie$1@dont-email.me>, did
weberm@polaris.net deliver unto us this message:

Yeah, not unless she wants to play D&D. :-)

I was not aware people still played AD&D.

Oh, absolutely. OSR, the old-school revival, is a huge thing. I had four players the first week, and another may join today.

There are several different writeups of the old rule set. I went with
OSRIC because its PDF versions are available free, but we're a pretty freewheeling group so far. We already made a joint decision to lose the
to-hit tables and graft on THAC0 from 2e.

2e did have some good stuff. As well as THAC0, I approved of the
comeliness statistic (though it was poorly implemented) and of cantrips.
A lot of people played 1e happily for years, though, so I think we'll be
fine with that as a base rule set.

But I'm not so easily sold.
    For supposing they should,
It would do them no good --
They'd lose it at once to the bold.
