'Dungeons & Dragons' Live-Action Series in the Works at Netflix
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
The live-action "Dungeons & Dragons" TV series has found new life.

Variety has confirmed with sources that a new iteration of the
project is currently in development at Netflix. There had
previously been a "DnD" series set up at Paramount+ with a
series order, but that project ultimately did not move forward
due to strategic shifts at Paramount as well as the sale of
co-studio eOne by Hasbro. Hasbro Entertainment is also
    producing the new project.

The series is currently titled "The Forgotten Realms," named
after the famous "DnD" campaign setting. Drew Crevello, who was
previously attached as the showrunner of the Paramount+ project,
will serve as writer, executive producer, and showrunner on the
Netflix version. Shawn Levy will executive produce along with
Dan Levine via 21 Laps under the company's overall TV deal with
    Netflix.

Reps for Netflix declined to comment.

Crevello previously co-created and served as co-showrunner for
the Apple limited series "WeCrashed." He also helped to develop
films like "X-Men: First Class" and "Deadpool" during his time
    as a film executive.

"Dungeons & Dragons" was originally created in 1974 by E. Gary
Gygax and Dave Arneson in Lake Geneva, WI. Considered one of the
most influential games of all time, "DnD" sees players create
characters from a wide range of fantasy races like elves, orcs,
and dwarves and take part in elaborate role playing through a
wide range of settings and stories.

Have they stopped self-flagellating themselves over the "racist" implications of half-orc and half-elf characters yet?

    Oh, it's gotten worse.

Orcs no longer exist because it's racist (againbst black people?), but
if you want them, they suggest making them illegal aliens, accompanied
    by a strangely Mexican-looking illustration. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/iJJQOyvGKk8/maxresdefault.jpg

Dryads can be male (but still feminine).

Succubi and incubi were combined into a trans monster.

    Holy shitsnacks, Batman.

Have any of the people who insist that orcs in D&D and LORD OF THE RINGS are meant to be black people stopped and realized that it's *them* who are the racists for making that comparison in the first place?

They also say the same about Drow.

Did I mention the rules for players who are "triggered" during the game?
