I've called "The Callisto Protocol" the store-brand
"Dead Space", and I stand by that; the game is a very
obvious rip-off of that better known property, and never
quite meets the quality of the game its aping. That doesn't
make it a bad game though; it just keeps it from being a
great one. It's got its problems (the melee combat is a
bit janky, and the story is --even for a game in the
survival horror genre-- quite silly. But it's got some
nice visuals, some good scares, and while it won't make
you think, it'll ably pass the time. As something you pay
for, I probably wouldn't bother... but as a freebie? Give
it a try.
(Mind you, you may already have this one, since it was
a freebie already way back in August 2024)
