    Thanks for your advice, William. It has helped my game that I don't
    jump to trade pieces while running a deficit (or even zero because it
    could go either way). It seemed like I had no other option at the time,
    but there is a great deal of running around that is possible. I'm up to
    a 1389 rating on gameknot.com and headed upwards even further. This is
    decent for me. I'm curious how realistic these ratings are by
    comparison to FIDE. I like to tell myself that they are artificially
    low, but probably they don't reflect much of a true rating. More is
    better though.
