KFC and Surreal Turn Original Recipe Chicken Into a Savory Breakfast Cereal

Forget milk " this one is meant to be covered in KFC gravy. EfiuEfNu

Breakfast cereal has officially taken a trip to the fried-chicken side.

KFC UK has teamed up with British high-protein cereal brand Surreal to launch KFCereal, a limited-edition savory cereal inspired by the flavor of KFCrCOs famous Original Recipe chicken.

And before anyone asks what kind of milk goes with chicken-flavored cereal, KFC already has an answer:

    None.

The suggested topping is KFC gravy. Efya

Efiu Original ReciperCa in cereal form

Instead of the sweet chocolate, cinnamon or fruit flavors normally associated with breakfast cereal, KFCereal goes completely savory.

The crunchy, hoop-shaped cereal is seasoned to recreate the familiar flavor profile associated with KFCrCOs closely guarded blend of 11 herbs and spices.

KFC has spent decades building the Original Recipe seasoning into one of the most recognizable flavors in fast food, so this collaboration essentially asks a very unusual question:

What happens if you take the chicken out of the equation and put those flavors onto cereal instead?

    Apparently, you get breakfast.

EfNu And yes, they really want you to add gravy

The strangest part of the launch may not even be the chicken-inspired cereal itself.

KFC and Surreal are encouraging customers to skip the cold milk and serve KFCereal with KFCrCOs signature gravy.

That turns the bowl into something closer to a crunchy savory snack or breakfast dish than a traditional cereal.

Whether the gravy should be poured over lightly or used to completely drown the cereal is probably something each brave taste tester will have to decide for themselves. ...

KFC Brand Manager Elspeth Allen explained the thinking behind the collaboration:

Our 11 herbs and spices have been doing a pretty good job on chicken, so we thought werCOd see what they could do for breakfast.

ItrCOs certainly one way to find out.

    ' Surprisingly high in protein

Despite being modeled after one of the worldrCOs best-known fried chicken brands, KFCereal keeps the nutritional profile normally associated with SurrealrCOs cereals.

    A 48g serving reportedly contains:

    []19g of protein
    []1g of sugar

That high-protein, low-sugar approach is a major part of SurrealrCOs identity. The UK cereal company specializes in reinventing familiar cereal ideas for adults while putting much more emphasis on protein and considerably less on sugar.

So while the KFC branding and gravy pairing are clearly designed to grab attention, the cereal itself still fits within SurrealrCOs usual functional-food approach.

" Limited edition and UK-only for now

KFCereal officially launched on September 22, 2026, with the release timed around the UKrCOs university Freshers Week.

The limited-edition cereal is being sold exclusively through SurrealrCOs online shop while supplies last.

The reported price is -u6 per box, including shipping, and each box contains roughly five servings.

There has been no announced wider international rollout, so anyone outside the UK hoping to find a box at their local supermarket or KFC restaurant may be out of luck for now.

Efiu KFC has been getting adventurous with food collaborations

KFCereal is part of a broader run of unusual KFC collaborations in the UK.

Recent promotions have taken the companyrCOs chicken, sauces and gravy well beyond the usual bucket. KFC has collaborated on everything from loaded snacks to other unexpected food mashups, making a bowl of savory cereal feel strangely consistent with the brandrCOs recent experiments.

Surreal is also no stranger to attention-grabbing collaborations, so putting the two companies together was probably never going to result in an ordinary bowl of cornflakes.

The big question: would you actually eat it? "

On paper, the combination is certainly unusual: crunchy protein cereal seasoned to resemble KFC Original Recipe, followed by warm gravy where the milk would normally go.

But savory breakfasts arenrCOt exactly unusual on their own. Eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, breakfast potatoes and fried foods all have a place at the morning table.

Perhaps the truly strange part is simply seeing those flavors served from a cereal box.

For die-hard KFC fans, collectors of limited-edition foods and adventurous eaters, KFCereal may be exactly weird enough to warrant a try.

For everyone else, the milk may be staying safely beside the regular cereal. EfNcEfye

Would you try a bowl of KFCereal with gravy, or has breakfast officially gone too far? EfiuEfNu

Since I was a kid, never liked cereal and milk.
I do like KFC on occasion. Of course, usually a dinner association.
Breakfast is eggs about 6X a week.

I'd be tempted to try it. More of a change from traditional eggs or
pancakes. Doubt it would ever be my first choice, but for the occasional change, I'd certainly give it a try just to break up the routine.

You might like this: a scoop of ice cream in a bowl, fill the bowl with the kid's
cereal of your choice, add a spoonful of sugar, then add milk. Enjoy! That's what
I saw while I was pretending not to be watching. I think the woman has problems with her digestive system or had a tough childhood - maybe both.

The extra sugar really makes it pop.

I was at the store and saw some candy in the shape of a fried chicken drumstick. I
stuck it in my cart. After thinking about it, it came to my mind that it was $3.50
for one piece of candy and so it was returned to the shelf. There's also fried chicken drumstick ice cream. Everything is a gimmick these days.

I've been eating ice cream drumsticks since childhood. Most of
them don't look anything like real drumsticks, but those seem to
    be trying for a resemblance.

Indeed, the biggest joke is that you just paid $109.99 + S&H for nine pieces of ice cream. That thing would give me diarrhea straight off. OTOH, I'd probably eat

    Answer; Bryan.

    Janet UK
    Serfs up! https://www.truth11.com/invasion-boat-migrants-who-have-entered-england-now-outnumber-british-soldiers-its-an-army/
Britain now has more illegal Channel arrivals under the Labour
government, which has been in power two years, than it has soldiers in
    the British Army.
Almost 90 percent of those intercepted since 2018 have been male; two-thirds are aged 18 to 39
Home Office figures put small-boat arrivals since Labour took office on 4 July 2024 at 83,279. The regular Army stands at 83,000.
On Wednesday alone, 781 people came ashore rCo the worst single day since Andy Burnham replaced Sir Keir Starmer as prime minister in July. The first three days of the week delivered 1,085 arrivals. Across 809 days of Labour government, that works out at roughly 103 people a day.
Shadow home secretary Chris Philp said the milestone speaks for itself. rCLLabour has let an entire army-sized population cross the Channel illegally,rCY he said. rCLMore people have arrived in small boats than we have soldiers defending Britain. That is completely bonkers. Labour has lost control of our borders and seems utterly incapable of getting it back.rCY
Former Royal Navy officer Chris Parry went further. LabourrCOs intake, he
said, amounts to six-and-a-half divisions of fighting-age men. rCLThatrCOs
more divisions than were in the Allied assault wave on D-Day,rCY he
added, calling the crossings rCLamphibious operations against our
    coast.rCY
