• Sunday Supper for 9/20/2026?

It's going to be salmon patties here with roasted garlic potatoes and
steamed broccoli with cheese sauce. A homemade tartar sauce that I
saw online a few weeks ago as well. I'm not that enthused about it,
though even after not making a full batch; it's a little too sharp
in the dill pickle range for me.

We are having a spatchcocked chicken. I made the marinate and poured it
over the chicken around 11 so it should have had lots of time to work.
My wife has gone downstairs to work on dinner. She is going to roast
some small potatoes with it, steam some beans and make a salad.

I'd probably like that tartar sauce. Please post the recipe or give more details. I HATE sweet relish. Thanks.

That sounds amazing. I am just eating coldcuts for dinner. Living

Lovely. I promise, to myself, to go grocery shopping tomorrow and to make something nice. This group I will use for motivation. Cheers!

I have never been a fan of tartar sauce but I'm sorry to hear yours did

Sunday supper was a couple of leftover beef enchiladas before portioning

I once followed an actual recipe for tartar sauce and was surprised at
the ingredients. I had had so many tartar sauces that seemed to be
little more than mayo and pickle relish. The real<?> recipe that I had
used had pickles, capers and olives along with some other things.

    From Natasha's Kitchen

Tartar Sauce (my notes below the recipe)

    Ingredients

    Servings: 8
servings or 1 1/2 cups total

    1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup dill pickles, finely chopped
1 Tbsp dill, fresh or frozen, OR 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh parsley
    1 tsp lemon juice
    1 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp black pepper, freshly ground
2 Tbsp onion, finely chopped, raA optional

    Instructions

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir to combine.
Add more lemon juice or pickles if desired.

    Notes:
I used 1-+ teaspoons of dried dill as dried herbs are more potent than fresh. Also, dill pickle relish was used in place of finely chopped dill pickles.
I did not add onion and if I had I would have probably used a finely minced shallot.

Neighbor loved it; if should make again I would curtail the pickles severely.

I'll definitely keep searching for a good tartar sauce and I can't say
I've ever had capers in that sauce, but I'm certainly a fan of them.

This particular sauce did have lemon juice instead of vinegar.

That is an outrageous amount of pickle. About three times the
normal ratio. Using prepared relish rather than chopped pickles
probably increased the pickle content as well.

Oh, you're going to tick someone off by having salmon patties!-a White >>> trash cooking! ;)

I have never been a fan of tartar sauce but I'm sorry to hear yours did >>> not turn out well.

I once followed an actual recipe for tartar sauce and was surprised at
the ingredients. I had had so many tartar sauces that seemed to be
little more than mayo and pickle relish. The real<?> recipe that I had
used had pickles, capers and olives along with some other things.

My uncle made some tartar sauce that was mayo, finely chopped onion, and finely
chopped parsley. That's it. There's no pickles in it. That's fine with me. The
idea of actually eating parsley is a radical one. It's one of my favorite sauces.

Sometimes I put parsley in chicken soup. Sometimes I put parsley in meatballs too, but not these meatballs. https://photos.app.goo.gl/7YLfeTpchgE9hE628

Meatballs and chicken soup? Meatball soup sounds like a great idea. That's on the menu.

Mayonnaise, dill pickles, lemon juice, fresh dill, capers, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, sugar?

Hard to tell because most of it is under the pizza. Looks

Yes, we have the same or a very similar one.

Tim Hortons used to sell Italian Wedding soup. Any time I went there for
a soup lunch and Italian Wedding was one of the soups of the day that
was what I ordered. Great stuff. I have not seen in anywhere else, but
if I ever see it in a real restaurant I will make sure to try it.

Canned anchovies have been out of stock at our local ALDI for many
months now. It's a disgrace! I think a devious restaurateur knows when
they have new come in and buys the lot. Either that or Trump has
