Anything is a chain is mediocre. You really have to find the local shop

A trick that I tried is to freeze your extra Krispy Kreme doughnuts

When yourCOre ready to have another one, take them out of the freezer put them in the air fryer at 300-# for between two and three minutes and they come out just like when they were hot and fresh.

much success. This is Tim Hortons country and even though their products
have gone downhill they still manage to draw a lot of custome7-rs. They

don't like, basically a small raised donut with glaze
and i did have some within the past year and considered
them a hard pass for any kind of repeat (mainly because
i don't like raised donuts). if you want empty calories
from grease and carbs go for it. me, nope... blech.

Anything is a chain is mediocre. You really have to find the local shop

    Donna's Donuts in Flint, MI

when Mom was on the road back and forth to southern MI
from here she would stop in and get boxes of donuts for
us and the rest of the family. well worth it.

they are the only place that made a cake donut custard
filled with chocolate frosting on top (i don't know if they
still do since it has been years since i've had any). i
only like cake donuts so they were a place i would visit
if i were down that ways and they were going to be open.

as i am generally trying to limit my extra calories
these days i'm not going to make a special trip that far
for a donut as our local grocery store makes acceptable
cake donuts if i do want one, but i'm also trying not to
    have those either.

once in a while i do like cream curls but a decent
version of those are hard to find around here. Walmart
does carry them at times but they are mediocre (i had
some the other day as i'd been hungry for them for the
past six months but knew it was likely to be a disappoint-
ment). my other place that i would get them from which
are a step up in flavor and texture didn't have any on
the shelf so i should be good now for another year.
basically they are a grease and sugar item with a bit of
vanilla flavor, but the bakery that produces them doesn't
really use much vanilla in them. :(

Mom said i should make my own. nah, i don't plan on
getting into that any time soon - i'd rather make chili
or things with more flavor (tapioca pudding i haven't
made in a long time now so that would be much more
likely as i know it turns out well and it won't be a
    failure for flavor or texture).

Krispy Kreme is a popular doughnut and is often used for fund raising in Hawaii.
Unfortunately, the only place that makes them is on the island of Maui. Any
KK doughnut on this island has to take a plane ride over here. The plane ride and high humidity and warm temperatures are the enemies of these donuts. Why Krispy Kreme donuts are not being made on the island with the most people is a big mystery in Hawaii. That's okay, I'd rather have a malasadas instead.

My college friend Jean brought me to the long-standing Krispy Kreme on Richmond Highway in Alexandria, VA, opened around 1956rCo1962, in the early 90s. We waited until they turned on the hot/fresh donut sign. Now, that's fresh. What a fine memory.

You're a guy that relishes a fine memory. Me too.

Lunch today was tan tan ramen. It was pretty good. The noodles were cooked to perfection i.e., quite chewy. As I got down to the bottom of the bowl, the noodles got less chewy. It's like being human - as we get older, we become
    less chewy.

Your love of Krispy Kreme donuts gave it away.

Damn, I'm gonna try it too! Yes, I got one! I'm relishing it!
