    Efiu Cosmic Sticky Honey-Garlic Chicken Wings

    " Ingredients:

    For the wings:
    * Chicken wings " 1 kg

    For the marinade/sauce:
    * Ketchup " 4 tbsp
    * Soy sauce " 1.5 tbsp
    * Vegetable oil " 1.5 tbsp
    * Honey " 1 tbsp
    * Dried garlic " 0.5 tsp
    * Paprika " 0.5 tsp
    * Chili flakes " to taste
    * Lemon juice " 1 tbsp

    " Preparation:

    1. Cut the chicken wings at the joints. You can separate them into drumettes and flats, and discard or save the wing tips for broth.

    2. In a bowl, combine the ketchup, soy sauce, vegetable oil, honey, dried garlic, paprika, chili flakes, and lemon juice.

    3. Mix the sauce well until smooth.

    4. Add the chicken wings to the bowl with the sauce.

    5. Mix thoroughly by hand or with a spoon so every piece is evenly coated.

    6. Cover the bowl and let the wings marinate for about 1 hour.

    7. Line a baking tray with parchment paper or foil.

    8. Arrange the wings on the tray in a single layer.

    9. Drizzle or brush the remaining marinade over the wings.

    10. Bake in a preheated oven at 200-#C for 20 minutes.

    11. Switch to grill/broil mode and cook for another 10 minutes, or until the wings are glossy, caramelized, and lightly charred in spots.

    12. Make sure the wings are fully cooked before serving. The internal temperature should reach 165-#F / 74-#C.

    13. Serve hot.

    " Notes:

    * The video shows the marinade being made directly in a bowl, then the wings are added and coated well by hand.

    * Lemon juice adds brightness and helps balance the sweetness of the honey and ketchup.

    * Honey helps the wings caramelize, so watch them closely during the grill/broil stage.

    * Soy sauce adds saltiness, so taste the marinade before adding any extra salt.

    * Chili flakes can be adjusted depending on how spicy you want the wings.

    * For deeper flavor, the wings can be marinated longer, about 2-4 hours in the refrigerator.

    * Arrange the wings in one layer so they roast instead of steam.

    * If the wings start browning too quickly, reduce the heat slightly or move the tray lower in the oven.

    * The grill/broil step gives the wings a more appetizing browned finish, but watch carefully because the honey can burn fast.

    * Let the wings rest for a few minutes after baking so the glaze settles.

    ' Summary:

    * Grill mode means broil mode in many U.S. ovens.

    * Dried garlic can mean garlic powder or granulated garlic.

    * Paprika can be sweet paprika, smoked paprika, or a mix, depending on the flavor you prefer.

    * These wings are sweet, savory, slightly tangy, and lightly spicy.
