No one gives a darn about poi. Not even your young Hawaiians.
You're expecting your young people to care about pulverized taro
root. I doubt they do.
You don't know about the young people on the mainland. How is it
that you're an expert on da young Hawaiians? You have no idea how important taro is to the Hawaiians. The kalo is considered to be
the original Hawaiian. My son's family recently made up a poi
pounder and board. It's the family poi pounder. Unfortunately,
the board cracked after a few hits. In the end, you really have
to use a thick piece of monkeypod or whatever kind of wood you
want.
The more I hear about poi the more I understand how the have
developed a taste for Spam. How bad could poi be that people would actually like that canned crap?
Don't knock Spam. The reality is that Spam is trending in the US. One
day, you might find yourself eating Spam and be happy about it. You
will rue the days when you dissed it. This will probably happen in
the aftermath of nuclear war, of course.

the Spam turkey. It's pretty good and probably healthy too. Also I
live in SLC, Utah. Maybe it's something in the water.

I remember Spam from my childhood. It was basically just meatloaf in
a can, unremarkable. But my grandmother used to slice it thick, egg-and-breadcrumb the slices, and fry them in butter, as one did in
those days.
