FYI: I have a number of bench grinders, but this was the first time I
used this "tool" grinder. Its a Harbor Freight 46727. At first glance
it kind looks like a bench grinder on sterioids, but its WAY better
setup for tool grinding. They don't sell it anymore. I think my dad
bought it on a closeout special. This was the frist time I used it, and
I have to say I really liked using it. I'll probably run these green
wheels for a while, but if I can find a CBN wheel for one side and a
diamond wheel for the other side I could see it become my favorite
grinder. Yep. Its discontinued, but Grizzly sells a very similar
Grinder. H7762 Except for the paint, and that the Grizzly doesn't come
with a stand, they look like the same grinder. In any case I'm sad to
see Harbor Freight no longer sells it. It definitely seems like it was
one of their hidden gems.

I recently bought a no-name version sold off from a marine engineering firm. The chip tray and wheel condition showed they had used it but not a lot.
The assembly was sloppy, the table holder castings aren't square to the
base, but it works well enough for a hobby shop and extends my ability to
use and resharpen brazed and insert carbide. I bought a variable speed DC motor + controller to adapt to turning it slowly enough to grind HSS on the diamond wheel.
