• Zoro Coupons

If you sign up for an account with Zoro they send you coupons. With the coupons and free shipping on most orders over $50 they can sometimes
have the most competitive net price. I've bought gas engines, metal
cutting saws, material racks, and screws using 20% off coupons.

That being said, they used to send me coupons good for a month. Now I
get limited product range coupons or coupons only good for a day or two.
As a result I buy a lot less from them than I used to.

If I have to have something today I call local suppliers, or pay Home
Depot prices. (I buy as little as possible from Home Depot even though
I have a "pro" account.) If sometime in the next week is soon enough I
check all my on-line sources. If I don't have a current coupon from
Zoro they don't usually even get checked.

If I need it by tomorrow I'll check Amazon too. Sometimes I get things
the same day. That being said McMaster often delivers by next day, and
if its in stock MSC will deliver next day at ground rates, or ground for
    free on most things.

Auto parts stores also often deliver same day now. I've ordered five
gallon buckets of hydraulic oil from Autozone or Checker, had it within
a couple hours, and just kept working on other stuff in the mean time.
They charge, but its usually less than the gas to drive over there in my truck, and that doesn't count my time. I don't see how the gig drivers
make any money on deliveries, so I always try to catch them and give
them a couple extra bucks cash.

McMaster and MSC are still okay vendors, but "some" local brick and
mortar retailers are learning to compete with Amazon where they can.

Okay, Home Depot does deliver, but they rarely have the best price, and
they can be a pain, often not delivering what I need from the local
store even when I have checked inventory first.

Yeah, this is probably a worthless post for most of you guys. LOL The
thing is ten minutes on the computer can save me an hour or more and a
fair bit of coin as well.

It applied to me although I buy more electrical and less machine shop stuff than you, as well as auto parts. I make sure the clerks and managers know I search and shop on line but would rather buy locally if possible, and don't expect things to be in stock if they can arrive in a day or two. I didn't whine when the Tiger Seal failed to show up when promised, delayed a day. Being close to Massachusetts whining and demanding are too common. They shop in NH to avoid a sales tax.

I find it amusing that the Boston TV keeps commenting on how relatively well behaved British Isles soccer fans are.

I don't get much in the way of adjusted pricing no matter what I say.
If the brick and mortar store wants to sell it to me today, I'm not a
fan of, "We can get it for you.... and charge you more." I can get it
for me too. I do try not to waste their time though. I try to know
they have it in stock before I walk in the door, or call on the phone
making the poor guy standing at the counter or standing in line wait
while his counter man answers yet another phone call...

I find it amusing that the Boston TV keeps commenting on how relatively

I don't really watch or follow sports. If the home team is in the Super/Series/Off I watch and the hype has been good, but I haven't
really followed any competitions since the Nascar in the 80s with
Waltrip, and Earnhardt trading paint and Elliot running first in every
    bonus money lap.

I played pool half serious at one time, but I only knew a few big names,
and only because everybody else was talking about them. When I thought
I was going to be the next KVD in bass fishing I only knew his name
because other people were fans. I just never really followed
professional competitions except sometimes the Olympics, and really only because my wife watches them. I'd rather spend my brain sucker box time
with Star Trek, the Expanse, Lost in Space (the reboot, not the
original), or Foundation... and the last couple Star Trek series were
only ho-hum*. Even when I played football (one season) in high school I didn't follow it.

*Lower Decks was good, but Strange New Worlds and Academy are / were
ho-hum. Lower Decks was real Star Trek, nearly as good for today as TOS
was back in the 60s for then... (well 70s in reruns for me).
