• Welding Square - DIYDEA

I'm almost embarrassed at the poundage of aluminum flat bar scrap I have generated. I periodically manage to recycle some of it. All of the
tool racks on my CNC mills are made of failed mold cuts. Even the shelf brackets that hold them up. They look mostly pretty from the top, but
the negative shape, of fish, craws, shrimp, and other crazy creatures
    adorn the bottom side.

I was thinking of a simple idea for making welding squares out of the
stuff. It's mostly to thick to weld for me being 1/2 inch or thicker,
but two flat (on average) pieces bolted to a piece with a 45 cut on each
end might just do the trick, and it would leave the joint (most of the
time) wide open for tacking. Any old clamp would do holding them. Not
a product I could sell, but they might be really handy for setups on the table. If I made twice as many as I would ever need that leaves only
99% of the scrap I have left to get rid of still.

Maybe you could separate and sell them as specialty candy molds.

I have made candy molds. What I do is machine and aluminum master mold and then use food grade silicone resin to make the candy mold.
