• HAAS WINNERS CIRCLE - SPAM

I don't know if it will be this way forever, but HAAS Tooling (not HAAS
CNC, but probably the same company at the top) offers a program called winner's circle for $10 bucks for a year that gets you next day free
shipping for tooling orders. That alone is worth far more than the ten
bucks. I've used it a couple times int he last few days to order
inserts and/or insert tooling that were amazingly priced very competitive.

That being said I've ordered tooling from Shar's, McMaster, MSC, and
HAAS in the last few days. I had to pay for 2nd day from Shar's
(couldn't justify next day), and McMaster was one day for regular ground regular time for ground late in the day, but not horrible. MSC was free
next day "saver" upgrade, and HAAS was free next day with the ten bucks
laid out for a year of Winner's Circle.

In each case it was a matter of finding the tool or the insert I needed
and I did check pricing. I ordered inserts from HAAS, SHARS, MSC. I
ordered tooling from McMaster and Shar's.

Anyway, HAAS is trying really hard to be in the tooling business. They
quite often have very competitive options. Sometimes not so much, but
that is true with anybody. Even McMaster is competitive sometimes.
HAAS does not tend to have the smaller tooling and inserts I often
    prefer though.

You know I have this superstitions that the moment I sing somebody's
praises they let me down. For some reasons I didn't remember that when
I made this post on Usenet. Yeah a few of us still communicate there.

I have got to remember not to say good things about people, because no
    good deed goes unpunished.

HAAS returns are a pain in the patootie. My fault for ordering the
wrong item (they don't even list the right item), I tolerate the 20%
return fee, but having to shut down the shop and drive into town to drop
off the return at a UPS store when I offered to return them at my own
expense using USPS that comes to me, and I do not have to pay extra for
a pickup is annoying as heck. Instead I decided to staple the wrong
inserts to the wall as a reminder to shop HAAS with "great care." They
also have a strict seven day return window. That means I can't even
just set it by the door and wait until I am headed into town for
    something else.

Ever seen bright un-coated inserts that were gold before? Me neither,
but that's what I got from MSC today. Frack.
