    ---------------------------
I've invested in suppliers of basic necessities and General Obligation municipal bonds. The returns are reliable if not spectacular and ahead of inflation.

My chosen career was industrial and government R&D, and building prototypes
of new designs. I can design and assemble the electronics, fabricate the metalwork, and write the software, scribbled sketch to working product.

Jobs at small innovative startups rise and fall with the economic cycle so I made myself quite independent of outside support, for instance I have
antenna instead of expensive cable TV, am independent for heat and mostly
for electricity and buy much at flea markets, older stuff made of steel instead of plastic, that I can maintain by welding and machining if parts aren't available. Try fixing new stuff from China. My 1991 truck passed the last state inspection without any complaints, I made repairs the dealer couldn't, like troubleshooting electronics to the component and fixing it
when the module was unobtainable. When a noncritical steel car part rusts
away I make the replacement from galvanized or stainless.

The nonstandard way I reply is due to using Win 7 for its Media Center that lets me watch and record antenna TV on older business laptops that accept a second hard drive, a boot SSD plus a 1 TB HDD for recordings.
