Are you being threatened by Debby? Hope you make it through that OK.

It's supposed to be a once-in-100 year event but I don't know with this
    global warming.

Tropical Storm Debby has done nothing more than rain, sometimes a little heavy, other times sprinkles in this area since Monday, 8/5. Some gusty
wind on Monday night but that was ahead of the storm and nothing to
    write home about.

It's supposed to be a once-in-100 year event but I don't know with this global warming.

Oh puleeze. Global warming? This is not the storm of the century.
I've been through a few hurricanes. These storms have been going on for centuries.

Debby is a slow moving TS but all it has done in my area is rain in fits
and starts. I've driven to and from work every day this week with no
problem. I've had no power outages and have only heard of a few in my
area. Very few flooded streets (and those are in places where people
built their homes in a dip). Mostly no problems. It doesn't matter if
the storm has a name, it's a media contrivance to get more ratings.
They invariably show people in the worst possible conditions. NOT to
say some other people have not had much worse conditions. It is a
tropical storm, after all. Bound to be problems in a lot of places.

However, I just now took this picture of a hummingbird. She's soaking
    wet, but fine:

I was talking about the rainfall total but whatever.

The total rainfall in my part of SC as a result of TS Debby was about 12
inches. That was spread out over a period of 3 days. It was not the spectacular weather event (here) the weather people made it out to be.

I'm not saying people in the path of the storm didn't have flooding
issues. There were reported deaths due to flooding in some places. I
don't know the details. Just saying, in the Beaufort SC area it mostly
just spit a bit of rain. I went to work every day this week. No
problems. Just a little bit of debris on my driveway which the leaf
    blower will take care of.
