  • Handle bar grips

On the Catrike we have these foam handle grips that fit over the bar
level Scram levers. Mine finally bit the dust and I am thinking my best
bet might be to actually use bar tape and them them like handlebars just
going down. Seems even Walmart has a option that might work too just no
idea if I can slip them down over bar. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Concord-Lock-On-Bicycle-Handlebar-Grips-Anti-Slip-Rubber-with-Metal-Caps-Black-Includes-Allen-Wrench/17412553380?classType=REGULAR&athbdg=L1600&from=/search
    I take any suggestions.

For handlebar grips, ensure the bar is completely clean.
Wet the grip inside with brake cleaner or alcohol. Slip it
on fully and it won't move. Yes, locking grips have become
    inexpensive* and also work well.

If you meant SRAM twist shifter covers that is a different
    and much more complex problem.

True. However, with the availability of so many different grip

    Perhaps heated bicycle grips? <https://www.google.com/search?udm=2&q=heated%20bicycle%20grips>

For those who can't resist texting while riding: <https://www.google.com/search?udm=2&q=keyboard%20bicycle%20grips>

    Enjoy...

I put a regular wrap bar tape on the that was falling apart. It works
fine and is pretty robust compared to the foam grip that was on it. It
only required 1/2 of 1 side of the bar tape. You can 4 bars worth of
coverage buying any handlebar tape. I do have to say thought it is black
and looks sort of plain would be cool to have some really colorful
scheme, maybe red since the bike is black.

Foam grips are horrible. Tossing them was a good decision.
Road bar tape is not much better.

Among the rubber like grip materials, Kraton is a durable
material, as are the USA made ODI grips which come in a wide
    range of colors:

    https://www.odigrips.com/

They are longish but a scissors readily adjusts them to your
    application.

Unknown brand or low price grips are prone to material
degradation which turns to an unpleasant gooey slime with
regular skin oils. ODI and Kraton grips don't.

My grips are at the long end of handlebar end bars mounted shoulder
height out over the front wheels. I use the upper part of the bar to
assist me in getting on and off the Catrike, so I wrap the whole thing
with bar tape. I use bar end TT type brake levers with the cable
running under the bar tape in a plastic tube. My leather gloves are
    very hard on handlebar wrap.

It would seem that bicycle grips are a fashion statement.

    Enjoy...

I put a regular wrap bar tape on the that was falling apart.
It works fine and is pretty robust compared to the foam grip
that was on it. It only required 1/2 of 1 side of the bar
tape. You can 4 bars worth of coverage buying any handlebar
tape. I do have to say thought it is black and looks sort of
plain would be cool to have some really colorful scheme,
maybe red since the bike is black.

Foam grips are horrible. Tossing them was a good decision.
Road bar tape is not much better.

Among the rubber like grip materials, Kraton is a durable
material, as are the USA made ODI grips which come in a wide
    range of colors:

They are longish but a scissors readily adjusts them to your
    application.

Unknown brand or low price grips are prone to material
degradation which turns to an unpleasant gooey slime with
regular skin oils. ODI and Kraton grips don't.

IrCOd also add that the grips vary wildly in comfort levels or rather
expected use, tried some DMR Deathgrips, I like their pedals are the iconic
MTB flat pedals, but I found the grips very uncomfortable and harsh, almost certainly intended to be used with substantial full finger gloves, for
folks gravity focused which isnrCOt my MTBing IrCOm more old school bridleway bashing!

IrCOd of thought that bartape like CatTrike (the poster) uses would work
well, after all the the riders isnrCOt load baring on the bar, bar maybe getting on/off the trike so be very lightly used in comparison to bikes.

Even with riding in wet and horrible conditions ie grit and so on, the bar
tape seems to last years, and itrCOs not expensive stuff, gets cosmetic
scuffed etc but thatrCOs just cosmetic!
