Today was a wild start. I had tried to add a cadence sensor to the
cranks that was for Saris. Seemed like it could be used for speed or
cadence. Well I take off get 2 miles and I am have only gone 1/2 mile on
the Garmin 945. It was reading it as a speed sensor. Well the only way I
could get rid of it was to delete the sensor in my Garmin.

That worked and so I was sort of pissed and took off doing my 1.3 mile
crit almost like velodrome. Set a catrike PR did 39 miles at 15.1 mph
even had my heart rate average 101 for the ride. Also, since getting the derailleur cable swapped and tension-ed and tuned it has been shifting
    perfect no a miss.

Right. There's an identifier of sorts built into the device that says
says "I'm a cadence sensor". It's basically an industry standard coded
onto the bluetooth/ANT+ datastream. It can't be changed.

If it was reading it as a speed sensor all you needed to do was to put
    it on your wheel.
