Looked like fog this morning, but it was actually wood smoke
from Canada with a distinct pine smell. In previous years'
events we saw more colorful dawns and sunsets but nothing
    more. This is very different.

Trains are stopped in Canada: https://nypost.com/2026/07/15/us-news/apocalyptic-video-shows-wildfire-flames-surrounding-train-in-canada-this-could-potentially-overtake-us/

and the area afire is large:
    https://scifv.scf.rncan.gc.ca/en

Girlfriend's farm, 80 miles west, has no smoke smell or haze.

Didn't affect my ride but it is strange.

None of it here south of you Andrew. Today was another great day to
ride. It was like 73 degrees and high humidity but no wind at all less
than 3mph. Got out and did a decent 41 mile riding taking in more
elevation change than normal. Of course around here it is still about as
flat as the world gets but one longer climb.

On the Catrike speed is hard to judge because sitting close to the
ground you think you are going faster than you really are. When the
catrike gets to 25mph it seems like it is screaming fast. Not in a fear
factor as such but just going forward.

The fear factor to me on 2 wheels is pretty much all around 30 mph and
above. If the pavement is real smooth and straight now so much but
introduce turns and bumps the fear factor for me is real and much more
    these days.

I was watching the TDF riders taking the switchbacks at each turn going
all the way to the edges of big drop offs and one mistake you are toast.
I wonder if they have really any fear or simply know they can maneuver
    and it is second nature.

Oh, sorry. Search failure, as I ticked "today'.

It is much less noticeable this morning.
