If the glasses open an illegal communication channel, they are rightly classified as giving an unfair advantage.
But this is not the reason:
Distraction 'by operating a rider-held camera' clearly is a safety
hazard.-a One could argue that the rule should only apply to 'hand-held'
or 'rider-manipulated' cameras as the glasses don't rely on active rider input but that is a slippery slope.-a In the next race a rider is told to look at certain billboards during the race to generate additional advertizing income (this is obviously not possible for a bicycle-mounted camera).
