Police said a man riding an electric bike was traveling east in a
westbound bike lane near the I-880 onramp while a vehicle was traveling
west in the designated right-turn lane for the northbound onramp.
FREMONT, Calif. (KRON) rCo A bicyclist was killed Saturday afternoon
after being hit by a car on Auto Mall Parkway.
Officers with the Fremont Police Department responded to the area of
Auto Mall Parkway and Grimmer Boulevard around 4:30 p.m. regarding a
major injury collision.
Police said a man riding an electric bike was traveling east in a
westbound bike lane near the I-880 onramp while a vehicle was
traveling west in the designated right-turn lane for the northbound
onramp. This is where the two collided.
The man suffered head trauma and was pronounced dead at the hospital
from his injuries.
The driver, a woman, remained at the scene and fully cooperated with officers. She did not sustain any injuries.
The cause of the crash is unclear. The investigation is ongoing.

The cyclist was riding against traffic (east in a westbound bike
lane). It doesn't matter if he was a registred Republican or
