Comments as ever should be taken with large amounts of salt!
This said to compare to London, NewYork which has similar populations,
though London has a slightly higher cycling mode share.
Both have an increase in casualties ie not just fatalities, which are
likely to be linked to motor vehicles I believe same is true for
pedestrians, which would track for motor vehicles being the cause for whatever reason.
I can only remember two pedestrian fatalities in london in the last decade
or so, one was someone doing laps of Regents Park, who collided with an
older lady.
The other was a dump lad on a fixie without any brakes, who rode recklessly and killed a woman crossing the road, he was taken to court and jailed, he was dumb enough to post some unapologetic posts to one of the forums at the time, so wasnrCOt surprising that he was found guilty.
That New York has a repeated number of fatalities of pedestrians from cyclists/e bikes/e motos is poor, clearly be rather less than motor
vehicles, but even so.
It appears that New York has a similar e bike speed assistance, ie 15mph though IrCOd guess still allowing throttles which arenrCOt legal in UK, which makes the enforcement easier, are such things as walk mode on E MTB so the bike will drive slowly up unridable climbs so you donrCOt have to lug a 20+ KG up!

Well, yes and no. Statutes notwithstanding, the actual
vehicles on New York streets are very capable electric
motorcycles, lawful "e-bicycles" being a distinct minority.
