• Catrike boom clamp skewer

Sometimes, on a ride, I find that the Catrike's boom has extended,
probably because I am a masher rather than a spinner. I notice that my
back is not being pushed back into the seat as a pedal and I feel that
I've slipped forward on the seat. The boom is "locked" in place with a
clamp and the clamp is closed with two skewers. On my last ride, I
needed to unlock the skewers and twist and slide the boom back a 16th
of an inch. (Yes, a 16th of an inch makes a big difference.) I then
clamp the skewers as tight as I can get them.... As I did this, a
thought hit me.. what if I break one of the skewers... It would be
hard to ride with the boom freely sliding forward....

When I got home I found a replacement skewer at the Hostel Shoppe bike
shop in Wisconsin, which I will carry with me on all my rides.

Hostel Shoppe is a great organization and very helpful, but
a Catrike boom skewer is a regular MTB seatpost skewer,
$9.95 at most LBS; no need for postage!

    <LOL> Thanks...
I just entered "Catrike boom clamp skewer" and the only one that
    popped up was Hostel Shoppe.

You're right about Hostel Shoppe. They are a good bunch. I've dealt
with them before. I'm not going to cancel the order. The $12.15
shipping cost will serve as a lesson about not doing my research.
