• Rattling

I notice the last 2 ride at times ratting on the catrike. Over some
bumpy roads not on smooth surface. I could hear it in the back almost
like the cassette was no tight. However it shifter fine and no other
issue just a bit of annoying rattling at times.

I looked after two rides nothing could be found did not sound like chain
slap but maybe something small at times out sync. Today started my ride
and check the rear derailleur it was fine. I sort of poked at it a bit
around the pinch bolt to see or feel anything loose. Zero nothing.
Proceeded then to go out and did a 43 mile ride. The rattle is gone and
    I am completely.

I don't know but so far I am way ahead. I am not use to this not being
able to see the cassette at times. I sometimes look at the rear cassette
on the 2 wheeler riding. This is impossible on a Trike. The rear is a
11/36 with a 30/39/52. Basically around here I run in the big ring most
the time it takes every gear no noise. I sometimes go the 39 and at
moment no need for the 30 but that would easily end in the mountains.

Loose cassette lockring is all too common.
Hold the low gear and push/pull laterally. Should not move.

To be certain, drop the wheel, torque to 40nm (not all your
    strength!)

You have an idler sprocket under your seat on the power side, and
sometimes it will rattle and the sound cantravel through the frame and
seem like it's coming from somewhere else. You might want to check it
out. The bearings do go bad and they are replacable. Sometimes the
chain traveling through the chain tubes will sound like a rattle.

If the noise persists, you can find it. Intermittent noise
    is very difficult.

Sorry, I thought you bought it used... At any rate, the chain tubes
and the idler can make noise. Sounds can travel though the frame and
your ears are fairly close to the upper part of the frame.

I might add as a guitarist and musician I have really good ears. I still
hear well and can hear things people my age don't. Dripping water and
odd noise all around the house. I don't have perfect pitch but really
really good relative. pitch I can tune up a guitar from no string on it
to all 6 and get easily within 1/4 tone of it being all up to standard
pitch. I hear things on bikes too.
